2019 has certainly been one for the books, and I’m not entirely sure how 2020 is going to top it. The life events alone have made it nearly impossible to ever top!
In 2019, I:
Got married to my best friend.
Spent 12 incredible days on our honeymoon in my new favorite tropical location (still looking for houses in Hawaii because I want to live there forever).
Went to my first ever travel conference (then a second one half way across the globe a couple months later).
Reached my goal of seeing Glacier National Park before 2023.
Vagarious Wanderer turned ONE!!! And I still love it!
I was asked to do a guest post for the first time (as opposed to a couple others that I responded to calls for submission). You can read all about eating through history in Boston over at Roaming Nanny!
And I made some pretty awesome friends in Riga.
And all these events don’t even cover all my travels!
In 2019 I took 16 flights, went on 4 roadtrips, and 1 ferry trip. All of this resulted in 26,468 newly explored miles of this beautiful planet we live on!!! (And that’s not even including my little daytrips in between).
I have truly been blessed this year with all that has happened and all that I have been able to do, and based on my calendar so far, 2020 is shaping up to be almost as exciting! (Okay, okay, equally…possibly more exciting…but not as life changing.)
Part of making a living in this crazy digital space is building a community of people that engage with your content, but the aspects that mean the most to me are the legitimate connections I have made with people. I will never forget the first DM I received this year from one of you telling me how much you enjoyed my 6 Best Coffee Shops in Worcester post because you grew up here and you’re just as proud as I am over the growth this city has seen, or the messages I received from small businesses telling me how grateful they were to me for shining some unexpected spotlight on their little piece of the world.
There are no words to describe how grateful I am for each and every one of you that has followed along on my journeys this past year. Thank you for hanging in there with me in the spring when life got crazier than I could handle, reading each post, for liking and commenting on posts on Instagram, and most importantly for messaging me or emailing me when a particular post touched you or helped you. I hope you’ll continue to follow along in 2020!
